Since the beginning of September, České dráhy has been increasing security on selected suburban trains in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. "We now have six patrols overseeing security on more than forty morning and evening connections. At the same time, we are enhancing surveillance at some turning stations," describes Jiří Ješeta, a Member of the Board and Deputy Director General for Passenger Transport at České dráhy.

The patrols, for example, assist in removing individuals who do not have a valid ticket or are otherwise violating the transport conditions. These measures are expected to expand in the following months. The ultimate goal is to have security patrols covering all major suburban routes during both morning and evening hours. These patrols will also monitor trains at all turning stations, starting no later than January 2024.

These measures are part of the 'Společně za čisté vlaky' ('Together for Clean Trains') campaign, which aims not only to prevent damage and pollution of trains but also focuses on making travel more comfortable and safer.

"We want passengers to feel like they are in a cultural environment on the trains, not in a squat. Therefore, we strive to make trains not only modern but also clean in every aspect. Together with České dráhy, we have prepared, I think, a solid mix of various measures, including frequent and effective train cleaning. According to information we receive from the field, the implemented measures have not been in vain, and I can say that the situation has improved," adds Petr Borecký, Councillor for Transport of the Central Bohemian Region.
