The modernization of the line in the German section from Schöna to Bad Schandau will affect the operation of long-distance interstate trains between Prague, Dresden, Berlin, and Hamburg from October 17th to October 27th, 2023. During this disruption, all EuroCity and railjet long-distance trains will be replaced by buses between Ústí nad Labem and Dresden. Passengers travelling from Dresden to Berlin and further north in Germany will use substitute IC trains. The disruption will also affect cross-border regional connections in the section from Děčín to Bad Schandau.

EC Berliner trains will operate between Prague and Děčín during this time. Transfer to replacement bus services will be provided at Ústí nad Labem main station. Replacement bus services will not serve the Děčín and Bad Schandau stations. In connection with concurrent track maintenance between Břeclav and Kúty, EC 172 Hungaria train services will be provided from October 17th to 25th in the Břeclav – Děčín section (as EC 10172), and in the opposite direction, EC 173 Hungaria will run from October 18th to 25th in the Děčín – Břeclav section. From October 26th, these services will be extended to Budapest. When travelling to/from Germany it will be necessary to use an alternative bus service between Ústí nad Labem and Dresden for these trains as well.
