A total of 180 new cars will form 20 nine-car ComfortJet trains. Thanks to their deployment, České dráhy will retire a corresponding number of old cars that are still in operation. The first ComfortJet trains will carry passengers during the first half of next year. Necessary tests required for approval are currently underway. The trains are being developed by the Siemens Mobility Škoda Group consortium. The control car bodies are manufactured at Siemens' factory in Vienna, with their final completion taking place at the Allach factory in Munich. This is also, where Siemens Vectron locomotives for České dráhy are produced.

The new ComfortJet trains will run from Prague to Ústí nad Labem and further to Dresden, Berlin, and Hamburg, as well as from Prague through Pardubice and Brno to Břeclav and onward to Vienna, Graz, Bratislava, or Budapest.
